陈劭雄​1962-2016广东, 中国​​​陈劭雄,1962 年出生于广东汕头,1984 年毕业于广州美术学院。2016年因病医治无效在北京病逝。陈是九十年代广州观念艺术小组“大尾象”的成员。他的工作一部分是独立创作,另一部分是合作项目,他是亚洲艺术合作“西京人”的成员,也是中国艺术家合作“没有空间的计划”项目成员。作为中国过去数十年中最为杰出和多才的艺术家之一,早在上世纪八十年代中期,陈劭雄就已参与广州地下艺术及实验艺术。自上世纪九十年代后期,陈劭雄创作了一系列作品形态,包括影像、装置、摄影蒙太奇、绘画、表演、以及集体参与等,而主题也开始越来越关注中国社会在全球化进程中所遭遇的各种大挑战。与此同时,他对于历史表现形式的再创作也进入了其创作领域。同样令人折服的是其思想与行为领域已经变得非常开放。他邀请公众成员参与其部分作品的创作过程,用以激发和分享对于城市和社会变革的共同记忆与理想 展覽回顧已故藝術家陳劭雄的两件重要作品,藉以向這位被視為中國最具代表性的實驗藝術家及中國當代藝術史上的一位舉足輕重人物致敬。展出的两件作品分別是陳劭雄與2005年前後在廣州創作的紀錄身邊家庭生活點滴的三維立體拼貼照片裝置《家景》系列(2005);另一件邀請大眾以指紋印按壓出來的大型布面作品《集體記憶 - 大英博物馆》(2016)是藝術家參與式藝術的代表作。陳劭雄(1962-2016),出生於廣東汕頭,1984年畢業於廣州美術學院。他是九十年代廣州觀念藝術小組《大尾象》的成員。 CHEN SHAOXIONG​1962 - 2016  Guangdong, China ​Chen Shaoxiong was born in 1962 in Shantou, Guangdong Province. He graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1984. He was one of the members of the 1990s Guangzhou conceptual art group Big Tail Elephant. At present, he works both independently and on collective projects. He is a member of the Asian art collective Xijing Men and the Chinese artist group Project Without Space. He currently lives and works in Beijing. As one China’s most multi-talented artists of the last few decades, Chen participated in underground art and experimental art in Guangzhou in the mid-1980s. Since the late 1990s,Chen has worked in a range of forms, including video, installation, photo montage, painting, performance, and collective action; his pieces have increasingly focused on the major challenges faced by Chinese society as a result of globalization. At the same time, he has also permitted the re-creation of the expressive forms of the past to enter his practice, and his ideas and actions have become even more open. He invites members of the public to participate in some of his works, which inspire and share collective memories and ideals related to urban and social change. The exhibition of Chen Shaoxiong showcasing two of his significant works and paying tribute to one of China’s most experimental artists and his contributions to the history of Chinese contemporary art. The works include “Homescape” series (2005) - three-dimensional collage photos installation depicting daily life at his hometown in Guangzhou; another piece is “Collective memory - British Museum” (2016) – a large-scale canvas with fingerprints of the audience invited to participate in creating the artwork.Chen Shaoxiong (1962–2016) was born in Guangdong province, China, and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts there in 1984. He was a founding member of the Big Tail Elephants Group.
